Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Welcome to the Argyll and Bute School CPD website. We intend to be the best rural authority in Scotland, and doing this means learning more effectively than other authorities. For this reason we need our CPD programme to be outstanding so that it can drive the development of our schools and classrooms. Our authority is a highly outward-looking one. Perhaps because of our unique geography, we are more aware than most of the danger of isolation; our philosophy is to look for the best ideas and research, and to constantly challenge ourselves to apply the most useful approaches. We also aim to be the best at sharing our own good ideas from within the authority.

LANA (Learning And Needs Analysis)

Welcome to LANA, our Learning And Needs Analysis database. To develop as a learning authority, we believe we need to do 2 things. We want to find out more directly from all of our teaching staff what their learning needs are? We also want to encourage more networked learning activity between teaching colleagues. LANA will allow you to enter your needs as and when you identify them, as well as allowing you to share areas of practice that you are involved in with others.
