I will be posting details of opportunities for international study visits, and details of any good learning that has already happened here.
The Scottish Executive Education Department is creating a Scottish network of "international masterclassers". They are looking for two further nominations from me for a November international education masterclass on the 5th to 7th of November in the Stirling Management Centre. Cover costs will be available. The Masterclass is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to share good practice with others whilst strengthening their expertise in approaches to international education. If you are interested in developing your knowledge of international education on behalf of your Argyll colleagues, then get in touch with me please.
Further details about the event can be obtained from Professor Kay Livingston, Head of International Education at Learning and Teaching Scotland (1041 282 5095, email k.lvingston:LTScotland.org.uk) or Nick Morgan, International Education Team at Learning and Teaching Scotland (0141 282 5086, emailN.Morgan@LTScotland.org.uk).
Argyll and Bute has been really influenced by international thinking. We believe that being outward looking and staying aware of what is happening abroad will let us try out new ideas that may accelerate our progress towards our "curriculum for excellence". At present we have been piloting some "rich tasks" based on the Queensland (Australia) model and we have had a long standing developmental relationship with Georgia (USA). Let me know if there is any thinking that you would like to share on this page.
